SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF POSTVILLE, IOWA
April 7, 2025
1. A special meeting of the City Council of Postville, Iowa, was held in the Council Chambers at 147 N. Lawler St. on April 7, 2025, beginning at 6:15 p.m. with Mayor Koenig presiding.
2. On call of the roll, the following Council Members were present: Larry Moore, Devora Mahr, Laurie Moody and Mary Engstrom. Absent: Rebecca Engelhardt.
3. Council Member Moore approved the agenda as posted by the Clerk. Seconded by Moody. Carried 4:0.
4. Council Member Mahr made a motion to set the public hearing for budget FY 25/26 for April 21, 2025 at 6 p.m. Seconded by Engstrom. Carried 4:0.
5. Bobby Friedrick and Darrin Bohr, Truck Country informed the Council the potential of tariffs in the amount not to exceed $3,500 to be imposed on the new plow truck purchase. Warranty options above the manufacturer warranties were discussed. The council will take the warranty options under considerations and with action at the April 14, 2025 meeting.
6. Council reviewed GO Obligation financing for the Zieglar City Utility Project and sidewalk to the ROKA development. Bond issuance timeline was also reviewed.
7. Waste Water Operator Chris Hackman was present to discuss the need to replace the controls at the Nordhaus and Willman lift station. A quote from Electric pump was reviewed. Nordhaus lift station control panel -$30,510; Willman lift station control panel- $33,035. Council Member Moore made a motion to approve both quotes from Electric Pump. Seconded by Engstrom. Carried 4:0.
There being no further business on the agenda to come before the Council, Council Member Moody made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Mahr. Carried unanimously. Adjournment 6:54 p.m.
