SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF POSTVILLE, IOWA
June 3, 2025
1. A special meeting of the City Council of Postville, Iowa, was held) in the Council Chambers at 147 N. Lawler St. on June 3, 2025, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with Mayor Koenig presiding.
2. On call of the roll, the following Council Members were present: Larry Moore, Laurie Moody, Mary Engstrom and Rebecca Engelhardt. Absent: Devora Mahr.
3. Council Member Moore made a motion to approve the agenda as posted by the Clerk. Seconded by Engelhardt. Carried 4:0.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by all in attendance.
4. Maggie Burger, Speer Financial was present with the receipt of bids and award of $880,000 Capital Loan. Two bids were reviewed with the lowest interest rate from Robert W. Baird, Milwaukee WI at 4.2410% after discount of filing fees the bond interest will be 4.125%. The notes will be callable in 2033 at that time the city may refinance or paid off depending on current market rates. Council Member Engelhardt made a motion to adopt Resolution #1464-25 A Resolution Directing Sale of $1,000,000 (Subject to adjustment per terms of offering) General Obligation Capital Loan Notes, Series 2025. Seconded by Engstrom. Nays: None. Absent: Mahr. Carried 4:0.
There being no further business on the agenda to come before the Council, Council Member Moody made a motion that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was seconded by Engstrom. Carried unanimously. Adjournment 6:12 p.m.
